Following his recent premiere at Cinequest Film Festival 2017, Director Justin Ferrato will premiere "Kill the Witness", an atmospheric film and meditation on fame, madness and toxic dreams, in support of Disco Fawkes new album, “Kill The Witness” on March 19, 2017 at the Queens Film Festival at The Museum of the Moving Image.

“Kill The Witness” was made in conjunction with a film of the same name by Justin Ferrato which will debut at the Queens World Film Festival on March 19th. The music and ambience for the film were created during the same studio sessions for the album in which Disco Fawkes toys with the idea of a “traditional film score” coinciding with a rap album. Thematically, the album mirrors the film dealing with isolation, anxiety, ego and self-confidence. Without dialogue or explanation Kill The Witness attempts to portray the struggles of young aspiring artists. The album lyrically paints a picture of the topics while the film relies heavily on audio to enhance the story behind its’ imagery. This kind of juxtaposition is a constant theme throughout Disco Fawkes’ music, as it mirrors the conceptual inspiration for their first EP “Descent and Ascension”.

The album, “Kill The Witness” is an experimental Hip-Hop/Rap album by Disco Fawkes which incorporates innovative modern flows with neoclassical instrumentation. The intention was to make an “experimental” hip-hop album where the avant-garde elements do not interfere or overshadow the rapping itself. It is an album which strives to be both creative and original without becoming overblown. Available 3/19 on: Spotify, Soundcloud, Apple Music, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, and more. “Descent and Ascension”, was released on March 17th 2015. Their first full length LP “Kill the Witness” will be released on March 19th 2017.

About Disco Fawkes

Disco Fawkes is an eclectic, experimental hip-hop group originally from Atlanta, GA where they were producing and performing abstract rap music. Getting their start in punk bands in Atlanta from a young age, Disco Fawkes translates that background into their work sporting a chaotic on stage demeanor mixed with political and philosophical outspokenness. Under the banner of “Fawkes Hole Records”, they work closely with a diverse group of other artists including Ekim, James Scott, Frankie Blanco, Dom Stone, B* Star, and The Nobodies.
